Every year I get a hanging basket of flowers and switch it over to my big planter on the patio, The first time I did this my best friend Caroline suggested it, and boy did those flowers explode. they lasted from May all the way until September.
Every Year after that Caroline and I had a contest to see who’s flowers would last the longest. Sadly I lost my Friend Caroline this past February, it was a devastating blow as she was the one person who knew what i was going through with my RA since she also had RA plus she had Lupus as well. She had contracted Covid back in late January and ended up with Covid Pneumonia and it was just to much for her and she passed away, the last Coversation I had with her I was talking about how I felt like such a failure because I couldnt find the right kind of mental health help for my husband, my heart was broken in so many pieces. another friend of ours called me a couple of nights later and told me Caroline was gone.
This years flowers are in honor of my friend Caroline, and the last words of wisdom she had given me on that last conversation. “If I could Tell you one last thing it is this, You are never as broken as you think you are, sure you have a couple of scars and a couple of bad memories, but then all great hero’s do.
